Government Looks to Cuba for Specialist Healthcare Workers
The Government of Montserrat is looking towards Cuba to provide the island with specialist healthcare workers.
Minister of Health the honourable Charles Kirnon made the announcement while speaking on the budget in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
He said the government has had difficulties attracting specialists’ doctors and nurses because of the exorbitant costs.
Mr. Kirnon says during the COVID-19 pandemic the Cuban government has been able to supply Montserrat with a pediatrian, obstetrician, gynecologist, surgeon, physician specialist, physiotherapist, anesthetist and nurses of various expertise.
