The Ministry of Health rolls out its Pfizer jabs as the latest Covid-19 variant, Omicron, rages!

The Government of Montserrat through the Ministry of Health has now made the Pfizer vaccine available to the residents of Montserrat who have registered to get their jabs.

The administering of the of the jabs began at the St. John's Health Centre Wednesday morning.

Meantime, Premier, the Honourable Joseph Farrell and Governor, His Excellency Andrew Pearce, his family, Government officials and members of the Governor's Office went to the St. Johns Clinic to get their Pfizer Booster shots Wednesday morning.

The event was live streamed. Nurses Violet Brown and Alex Ackee administered the shots.

The Ministry of health is encouraging a booster shot for those persons who have already received two doses of the Astra Zeneca. Children 12 years and over are approved to take the Pfizer vaccine.

More than 500 individuals here have registered to get the Pfiser jabs.

Governor, His Excellency Andrew Pearce says the COVID-19 Variant, Omcron, presents a threat to Montserrat.

Speaking at the St. Johns Health Center on Wednesday, Mr. Pearce says the variant is spreading rapidly in the United Kingdom and more than 70 other countries.

The Governor was at the St. Johns Health Center to receive his booster shot of the Pfizer vaccine.

He appealed to residents here to take the booster jab and to those who have not taken the vaccine as yet.

Minister of Health the Honourable Charles Kirnon also took his booster jab on Wednesday.
