Ministry of Health to Expand Local Vaccination Programme to Persons Under 18
The Ministry of Health and Social Services will be expanding their vaccination programme to persons under eighteen years old.
With preparations being made for the rollout of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine in Montserrat, the ages for persons eligible to take the vaccine will expand to persons twelve years and older.
This means that parents or guardians can register their child or children to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shara Greenaway-Duberry, confirms this on the GIU programme, “Government in Focus.”
She was at the time discussing the mobilizing of the Pfizer vaccine on the island and the information the public would need to know in order to make an informed decision.
Dr. Greenaway-Duberry also states that the Ministry is in the process of purchasing an ultra low freezer in order to adequately store the Pfizer vaccine.
