Caribbean Development Bank Representative says Montserrat Creative Industry can boost Local Economy

An official at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is encouraging Montserrat to use the creative industry to help generate wealth and boost the local economy.

Malene Joseph, Coordinator for the CDB’s Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF)  draws attention to the four festivals and a volcano concept, being promoted by the Montserrat Tourism Division.

Speaking specifically of the Montserrat situation, Joseph explained how the festivals can have a lasting impact on the community.

Montserrat Tourism Division Announces Jeans For Freedom Ferry Visit

The Montserrat Tourism Division has announced the visit of the Jeans for Freedom ferry on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023.

The vessel boasts a capacity of 437 passengers and so far 200 passengers have already booked for this exciting excursion, and the anticipation is high that by the date of travel.

Jeans for Freedom, specializes in providing discovery days to various islands, including St Kitts, Antigua, Marie-Galante, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, and Montserrat.

Farrell led a Montserrat delegation to the UK for the annual Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) in London from November 14 to 15, 2023.  Premier and the other leaders of the UK Overseas Territories discussed and reviewed a Joint UK-OT Declaration on future UK strategy in its relationship with the Overseas Territories.
