The Government of Montserrat says it remains resolute in its efforts to improve healthcare delivery on the island.
Minister of Health Dr. the Honourable Ingrid Buffonge says doctors at the Glendon Hospital now have access to cluster-busting medication to treat stroke patients.

Meantime, She says the CT Scan has allowed for local diagnosis, and adherence to international guidelines.
These guidelines specify immediate CT Scan on patients who are experience stroke symptoms.
Over the past year there were 12 stokes 6 heart attacks on Montserrat.
Buffonge says a recent study puts diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases as the cause of death in 59 per cent of cases at the Glendon Hospital.
The hospital is currently working on its protocol for the management of persons with stroke, similar to that used by the international medical community.
This would enable the hospital to achieve best outcomes for stroke patients.
