A Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy to be Implemented Here
A United Nations joint programme is being implemented in Barbados and Montserrat to develop a sexual and reproductive health (SRH) policy.
The Ministry of Health, along with stakeholders, held an in-country consultation on Tuesday at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
The purpose was to review and discuss the SRH policy framework to gain feedback, as well as to inform the first draft of the policy.
This is part of the UN’s commitment to support the Caribbean to ensure no one is left behind in sustainable development efforts.
The United Nations Fund for Population Activities- UNFPA representatives, Michele Dunn and De-Jane Gibbons, say the two-year joint programme is important, as it aims to ensure there is universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services and improve reproductive and maternal health worldwide.
