Ministry of Health and Social Services will observe Month of Older Persons in October

The Ministry of Health and Social Services will observe Month of Older Persons in October; complete with a packed calendar of events.

The theme for this year is, "Fulfilling the Promises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Older Persons". 

From October 1 through 21, some of the activities include the opening of the month church service at the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Brades at 9 am; two spa days at Oasis Spa; Penny Concert and Fashion Show; masquerade performances at the senior citizen homes here, and a bus tour and picnic from Jackboy Hill to Woodlands Beach.

There will also be some repeated events, with grooming for older persons, Centenarians’ Day, observed every Tuesday and Thursday, and a domino competition at the Look Out Community Centre and Salem every Friday.

All older persons on Montserrat are welcomed to participate in these activities and events.

The Ministry also says they are seeking volunteers from the community to assist with activities.
