Plans to Improve Montserrat’s Tourism Product Revealed as Montserrat Observes World Tourism Day 2023
Premier of Montserrat, the Honourable Easton Farrell reveals the vision for the future sustainable development of Montserrat's tourism sector.
This was a part of his radio address marking World Tourism Day 2023 on Wednesday September 27th.
The premier explained the need for constant advancement in local tourism, explaining the plans in the works to improve tourism on Montserrat.
He continued by noting the important role tourism has played in Montserrat’s economy thus far.
Premier Farrell is also calling on Montserrat to adapt to the changes that will come with embracing sustainable tourism.
The premier also stated that plans are in place to protect the natural environment including management of special conservation areas and regulation of the built environment, all part of the plan to improve sustainable tourism.
