Goverment of Montserrat Targets Develeopment of Little Bay Town Center
The Government of Montserrat is planning to restart the development of the Little Bay Town Centre.
That commitment was made by Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell.
He says the Centre will be the area of commerce and social exchange on Island.
According to the leader of Government Business apartments, offices, shops and more restaurants will be constructed and revitalized to transform the area.
Mr. Farrell says public-private partnerships will be sought and further funding secured to make this vision a reality for the people of Montserrat.
The landside development will deliver a renowned nexus for tourism, leisure, business, entertainment and community living.
In related news, Premier Farrell says Montserrat’s appeal on the global stage as a safe and desirable tourism destination will be enhanced.
He notes that, it is clear that the cruise sector is already bouncing back, and Montserrat remains a port of continued interest for small to medium cruise vessels.
This past cruise season saw 26 cruise calls scheduled, including new high end vessels, together with an increase in yacht arrivals.
Premier Farrell says this was a result of engagements with cruise line executives at the Sea Trade Conference in Miami in 2022.
