Viona Alexander Smith - Montserrat’s Newest Chevening Scholar!
The Governor’s Office has announced Montserrat’s 2022/2023 Chevening Scholar.
She is Viona Alexander Smith.
Alexander Smith will be pursing a Masters of Arts in International Relations and Global Communications at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
Alexander Smith, who is the Government’s Director of Information and Communication said she is honoured and eternally grateful to be chosen for the Chevening award.
The Communication Specialist is eager to expand her knowledge of communication and its impact on governance, politics and society from a global perspective.
She believes it is imperative for Montserrat to prioritise communication and see it as essential in all aspects of governance.
Her Excellency Governor Sarah Tucker, extends congratulations to Alexander Smith, saying that she was impressed with her and her talented team and the work they are doing in communications.
Governor Tucker sees this positive development as another bright spark progressing and building knowledge and capability for Montserrat.
The Chevening Scholarship scheme is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme enabling outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to pursue one-year Master’s Degrees in the UK.
Applications for the scholarship are now open and will close on November 2 2022.
