The Government of Montserrat Stands by Decision to Keep Schools Open

The Government of Montserrat is standing by it’s decision to keep schools open and to keep the island open.

Government schools have reported low attendances by both students and teachers since schools reopen on Monday following their closure the previous week due to the upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

There were calls by some persons for a lock down to curb the community spread of the virus.

However, while giving an update on radio on Tuesday, Minister of Health the Honourable Charles Kirnon reiterated that schools will remain open.
