Nurses on Island Seek Redress in the Face of Working Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Nurses on island are suffering from burnout and must take action to recuperate.

That’s the explanation from the president of the Montserrat Nurses Association (MNA) Danelta Henry.

She says contrary to rumors that the nurses are staging a sick out, Ms Henry told ZJB News that if this action were not taken to provide a respite, nurses would have fallen flat on their faces.

In an interview with ZJB News, the MNA President says they are currently engaged in dialogue with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders with the aim of arriving at an amicable solution to the situation.

The situation is further amplified with the recent departure of the the Cuban medical professionals who were providing invaluable support to the health team here.

ZJB News tried to reach out to ministry of health personnel for a comment but that attempt proved futile.
