New Pediatrician Renews Focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder or Autism
There is said to be a renewed focus on a neurological condition on island known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or more commonly called autism.
And, new Pediatrician in the ministry of Health, Dr Sylvia Paz has moved to ensure the early detection and intervention to reduce the long-term negative impact of the condition especially in children on island.
Speaking on the latest Radio Programme, “Talking Health”, and in an effort to raise the level of awareness here, Dr Paz gives a definition of the condition and what teachers, parents and health professionals should look out for, particularly, in the behaviour of children .
