Former Premier Calls on Her Majesty’s Government to Come Forward with More Financial Support for Montserrat
A former Premier of Montserrat is urging the British Government to come forward with more financial support for Montserrat.
Honourable Donaldson Romeo, who now sits on the opposition side in Parliament, says the Covid-19 Pandemic which began in 2020, has seen the cost of living on the island increase substantially.
In a radio statement he says the situation has been slow and tough for everyone with many persons unemployed.
Romeo notes that the British government has spent billions of pounds to save their economy, and calls for more support for Montserrat as a UK Overseas Territory.
