Former Premier Appeals for Amnesty for Non-Nationals Here Caught in the Grips of Economic Downturn

Former Premier of Montserrat Donaldson Romeo is appealing for an amnesty for non-nationals.

Romeo states that non-nationals are suffering most from the high cost of living on the island, and from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He says the government of Montserrat should consider following in the footsteps of other OECS countries such as Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts and Nevis in giving them time to regularize their immigration status.

The Honourable Donaldson Romeo.
