Importance of Financial Awareness and Education Highlighted
As part of observations for Financial Information Month on Montserrat, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank has a calendar of activities and events to mark the occasion.
Among the events was a panel discussion on Radio Montserrat Thursday morning aimed at building bridges to financial success.
Manager of the St Patrick’s Cooperative Credit Union, Peter Queeley, Director of Public Prosecution Oris Sullivan and Deputy Commissioner of Police Charles Thompson discussed the importance of financial awareness and education.
Mr Queeley started out by highlighting the importance of raising awareness to the threats to shrewd financial advancement and the functional structure that is in place on island to mitigate risks.

Meantime, Deputy Commissioner Thompson spoke to steps that were taken by a noted international entity to mitigate the risks that financial stakeholders face.

And speaking from an investigative standpoint, Director of Public Prosecutions, Oris Sullivan, provided clarity on how specific units must operate with focused independence in line with international obligations.
