The Island’s British Governor Hails the Sterling Work of Health Care Workers Here in the Fight Against the COVID-19 pandemic

The Ministry of Health and Social Services recorded six new cases of COVID 19 on Thursday.

There were also three recoveries, which brought the number of active cases on Montserrat to 65.

According to the Ministry all six cases were transmitted locally.

Of the 65 cases, 20 are fully vaccinated and 45 are unvaccinated.

Thirteen test results are pending.

The number of persons hospitalised remains at 3.

There are 110 persons in quarantine.

127 persons in Montserrat have contracted the virus since the pandemic began in 2020.

1, 488 persons have been fully vaccinated while 263 individuals have been partially inoculated against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Governor His Excellency Andrew Pearce is paying tribute to healthcare workers here for their sterling effort during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pearce says they have done an outstanding job in handling the virus.

He says this along with the government’s quick response has contained the current spread of the disease.
