The Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition Seeks Clarity on Government’s Vaccine Policy
The Leader of the Opposition Paul Lewis has questioned the government’s new vaccine policy.
Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell announced last week that front line staff including public servants would have the choice of taking the vaccine or a Covid test every two weeks, as the government looks to reopen the
borders.
However, Mr. Lewis says the timing is odd given that Montserrat does not have any known cases of the coronavirus at the moment.
Mr. Lewis also questions whether the government has the resources or capacity to implement the new testing policy.
Leader of the Opposition the honourable Paul Lewis.
Meantime……..
The Government says the testing of front line workers would not be mandatory.
On the issue of funding, the government said it never stated that it did not have the resources to test individuals.
It said that at the time the quarantine centers were established, the government would have indicated that it did not have the resources and manpower to visit all areas where persons were being quarantined.
