A Monumental Achievement - the Bank of Montserrat Take-Over of the Operations of the Royal Bank of Canada
The acquisition of the Montserrat operation of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is said to be a monumental accomplishment for the bank, its customers, and shareholders.
That’s the view of the Bank of Montserrat Limited which is part of a consortium of indigenous banks that completed the acquisition of the banking operations of the Royal Bank of Canada in the Eastern Caribbean on April 1st, 2021.
The consortium signed a definitive agreement to acquire RBC’s EC operations in December 2019, with an anticipated close date of July 2020. However, due to the worldwide COVID 19 pandemic the closing was delayed.
