A Former Government Minister Believes Montserrat Will Recover From the COVID-19 Pandemic by 2026

A former government Minister believes it would take five years for Montserrat to bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic.

Colin Riley, who served in the MCAP administration from 2009 to 2014 says it would be 2026 before the economy reaches pre-volcano levels.

Many economists projected at the time that Montserrat’s economy was one of the fastest growing before the volcanic crisis in 1995.

Mr. Riley, who now resides in the USA says it would not be easy for Montserrat to rebound from the pandemic.
