Marine Biologist Sees Hindrance to Development of Blue Economies in Montserrat and Across the Caribbean
A noted deep sea marine biologist says threats to the marine environment will have serious implications for the development of blue economies across the Caribbean including Montserrat.
Dr. Diva Amon, who is a research fellow at the Natural History Museum in London, is concerned about the loss of biodiversity and the effects of climate crisis, among others.
Dr. Amon believes the blue economy presents opportunities for the people of Montserrat but she is worried that the use of the ocean is becoming unsustainable.
