Montserrat's Governor and Premier Among First Batch to be Vaccinated on Monday

Her Majesty the Queen’s representative on island Governor, His Excellency Andrew Pearce and Premier, the Honourable Joseph Farrell are set to be among the first persons taking the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine on Montserrat.

This was revealed on Wednesday (February 3rd 2021) as the 3000 doses of the vaccine arrived on island just after 4 PM.

Governor Pearce has welcomed the arrival of the vaccine and encourages residents to also register to be vaccinated.

Meantime, Premier Farrell says the vaccine serves as yet another layer of protection for the island, when the Government is ready to start reopening the borders.

As on Wednesday, February 3rd, some 300 persons have registered for to be vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health is reminding the public that registration remains open.

Persons may register for vaccination by contacting any of the District Health
