Montserrat’s Leader of Government Business Awaits Financial Support from the British Government to Combat Climate Change Impacts on the Island
Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell says it is too soon to say how much funding Montserrat will receive to combat climate change.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced at the recent COP26 meeting that his government has committed 11.6 billion pounds sterling to deal with the climate crisis by the year 2025.
Pressed by the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday Mr. Farrell said Montserrat would have projects ready once the financing framework is in place.
