Montserrat Premier Signals His Government's Intention to Make a Significant Effort to Boost the Island's Economy this year
Montserrat’s leader of government business says his administration will be looking at innovative ways to boost the islands economy and to protect residents against economic shocks and the negative impact of the novel corona virus.
Premier, the Honourable Joseph Farrell says the challenges experienced in 2020, because of COVID-19, impacted every sector of society.
Premier Farrell emphasizes that his administration is determined to provide the necessary support to limit long-term economic damage and to protect the well-being of people – most crucially and visibly during emergencies such as the recent outbreak of the coronavirus.
Meantime, Premier Farrell is sending a message that his government is ready to roll out a number of projects this year.
He said his administration have been meeting with the funding agencies and have prioritized several projects for implementation.
