Government Encourages Visitors to Depart Island Early
The Government of Montserrat is advising visitors who arrived here for the cancelled St. Patrick’s Day Festival to depart earlier than planned.
This was agreed to in a Cabinet meeting on Sunday March 15, as international airlines have been implementing new measures as part of efforts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19.
International airlines and many countries are imposing restrictions, which make return journeys increasingly difficult as time goes by.
A release from the GIU says further details and updates on Government of Montserrat measures will be provided as the situation continues to evolve.
On March 14, the Ministry of Health and Social Services announced that it is investigating a suspected case of COVID-19 on the island. The individual is currently under home isolation.
