According to Governor Pearce both Fly Montserrat and SVG Air have complied with this new requirement.
However, he states that the restrictions are still in place for anyone else who does not meet the standard.
His Excellency Governor Andrew Pearce speaking with the host of the breakfast show Basil Chambers on Thursday.
During the interview The Governor stressed that he is not responsible for airport safety regulation.
He pointed out that the designated authority is ASSI, who made the decision to close the runway when it is wet, following an incident involving a Fly Montserrat aircraft in September 2019.
Meantime…. the former manager at the John A Osborne Airport Norman Cassell says the new conditions placed on airlines are - in his words - an operational nightmare.
