Montserrat At Risk for one of the Deadliest Diseases Affecting the Americas

Epidemiologist Dr. Dorothea Hazel says there is still a risk a measles outbreak Montserrat.

Dr. Hazel says there have been no confirmed cases in Montserrat but the disease is present in the Americas including Washington in the USA.

She says measles is highly contagious and kills over 100,000 children globally.

Dr. Hazel also has this advice for parents who are reluctant to vaccinate their children.

According to the latest PAHO update, a total of 2,472 confirmed cases of measles have been reported from 11 countries in the Americas.
