Montserrat ECCB Winners Recognized
Two students were awarded Monday for their achievement in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) 2018 Essay Competition.
During a brief ceremony at the Montserrat Secondary School, Montserrat’s top achievers, Tiffany Weekes and Indyriah Crichlow were awarded by ECCB Country manager Angela Estwick.
Outs of 132 submissions, from the 8 ECCU member states, Tiffany Weekes placed 3rd overall and received $1000, a certificate and a trophy.
The MSS received $EC500 and Mrs. Cleo Cassell, the English teacher who facilitated their participation received EC$200.
Indyriah Crichlow of the Montserrat Community College was awarded Best in Country and received a certificate for her essay.
Both schools received certificates for their participation.
Students had to submit essays on the topic: “Towards a Cashless Society: Challenges, Opportunities and Realities for the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union”
