Innovation on Montserrat Hampered By Financing

The Honorable Minister of Communications, Works, Energy and Labour Paul Lewis says there are barriers hampering innovation in Montserrat. He says one of them is the lack of financing.

Mr. Lewis says the government has been shouldering the burden and has had some success, but the lack of capital has been a problem.

Mr. Lewis was speaking at the launch of Innovation Days at the National Trust on Thursday.

Meantime, Innovation Days continue on Monday, August 20th with a round table discussion on the ‘Creative Industry.’ This will be held at the Conference Room of the Cabinet Secretariat at 9:00a.m.  Individuals with an interest in this sector are encouraged to attend and share their views.

The OCTA Innovation Team has also organised a session specifically targeting youth on Montserrat, scheduled for Tuesday, August 21st from 10a.m. to 12 noon at the Montserrat National Trust. 

School aged students are therefore invited to attend this specially tailored innovation session, to understand how they can be innovators and creators contributing to Montserrat’s sustainable development.
