Rabo Reflects On Leeward Islands Competition
Montserrat’s reigning calypso king, Kenneth “Rabo” Silcott has been reflecting on the just-concluded Leeward Islands Monarch competition in which he participated.
Speaking on the breakfast show Monday, He said even though he didn’t finish in the top three, the experience was a rewarding one for him in a number of ways.
Silcott was asked where would he place the general standard of calypso in Montserrat with that of the other neighbouring islands.
He also made some suggestions for improvement at the level of the Leeward Islands Calypso Competition.
Antigua/Barbuda’s reigning Monarch Thalia “Queen Thalia” won the Leeward Islands title, with Anguilla’s King “Springer” finishing First runner up.
Trevor “King Zacari”, who won the competition back in 2017, was second runner up. Monarchs from eight islands participated in the competition
