Sisters for Progress Organize Gender Violence Consultation

Following a spate of reported domestic violence cases on island, a Consultation on Gender Violence and Moving Forward to Gender Justice in Montserrat is being planned for next Tuesday.

The meeting, which is being organized by the Honourable Speaker of the House Shirley Osborne, aims to provide an opportunity for persons who have been affected directly or indirectly to speak out.

The panel will include His Excellency the Governor Andrew Pearce, Honourable Premier Donaldson Romeo, Commissioner of police, Steve Foster, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Oris Sullivan and Minister with responsibility for Gender Issues, Delmaude Ryan.

Ms Osborne is hoping to have positive outcomes from the discussion.

The meeting will be held at the St Patrick’s Cooperative Credit Union starting from 7 Pm.
