Ministry of Agriculture Hails National Tree Planting Day a Success

Officials in the Ministry of Agriculture have reported that National Tree Planning Day 2018 on Wednesday was a success.

More than 1000 plants were distributed at the Brades nursery on Wednesday from as early as 7:00am, .

Persons were able to choose 3 plants from 23 different varieties for just $10.

Meantime, Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Agriculture Eulyn Greaves used the opportunity to thank the Montserrat community for their unwavering support over the years.

A number of persons expressed their gratitude to the ministry for the quantity and quality of plants that were available.

Among them were Breadnut, Cashew, Croton, Custard Apple, Fat Pork, Five Finger, Governor Plum, Jack Fruit, Moringa, Passion Fruit, Pawpaw, Plumrose, Spanish Tamarind, Soursop, Spice Guava, Sugar Apple, Surinam Cherry, Sweet Tamarind, Strawberry Guava, Golden Apple and Cocoa.

Limes, Dwarf Coconut, Breadfruit, Yellow Poui and Ylang Ylang were also available.
