Local Educator Calls for Equal Opportunity for All through a Reassessment of Montserrat's Education Systems
As the debate continues around Universal education, there is a call for a reassessment of the education systems on Montserrat.
Head of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus here, Gracelyn Cassell, says there is an urgent need for every student to be afforded an equal opportunity to achieve to their highest potential.
Speaking on the latest “Brain Power” radio programme, she claims that there must not only be academic education taught in the schools but general life skills provided that the requisite resources including trained teachers, are made available.
Ms Cassell also speaks to the education systems preparing people for leadership in the 21st century and beyond considering the societal setbacks that are rampant.
