Montserrat Represented at ThirdCouncil of the Ministers -Immigration Meeting in Grenada
Montserrat is being represented at the third council of the ministers -immigration meeting in Grenada, Wednesday.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Office of the Premier Honourable Crenston Buffonge and Chief Immigration Officer Charles Thompson join regional counterparts in discussing support for implementing the free movement regime, and the OECS Policy on Rights Contingent on the Right to Freedom of Movement, which grants citizens indefinite stay, work, and access to services without discrimination.
They will also discuss key issues including enhancing border security personnel's capacity, addressing environmental disaster impacts, implementing the CARICOM Arrest Warrant Treaty and Model Bill, and enacting API and PNR legislation for timely passenger data.
Guest speakers include Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, Director General of the OECS Dr. Didacus Jules, and Grenada’s Permanent Secretary (Ag) Ministry of National Security, Home Affairs Carlyn Mc Quilkin.
