Premier Meade Travels for CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting

Several matters of particular interest to Montserrat will be discussed this week at the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government in Barbados.

Themed Strength in Unity: Forging Caribbean Resilience, Inclusive Growth, and Sustainable Development, the Meeting will address matters on the regional agenda including food and nutrition security, climate change and finance, digital resilience, and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.

Maritime and air transport, as well as reparations, will also be discussed over the two days, February 20th and 21st.

The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday afternoon 19 February, featuring speeches from Prime Minister Mia Mottley; immediate past Chair, Dickon Mitchell of Grenada; Premier of Montserrat, Honourable Reuben T. Meade; and CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett.

The opening ceremony will be aired on ZJB Radio, starting at 5:30 pm.
