Montserrat Represented at 5th Caribbean Clerks Programme in Trinidad

Montserrat was among jurisdictions represented at the 5th Caribbean Clerks Programme hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK.

The meeting, which took place in Port of Spain, Trinidad, was attended by Clerk of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Judith Baker.

She was among thirty-three delegates who gathered to participate in the programme, with roles ranging from clerks and secretaries to stenographers and research assistants.

The programme was aimed at advancing the expertise of participants by facilitating the sharing of experiences, as well as providing an opportunity for participants to strengthen the networks of clerks and officials from across the Caribbean region, and to reaffirm the relationships between jurisdictions in the Caribbean region and the UK Parliament.

CPA UK says the seminar was a productive and enriching experience for all the participants as they were able to share insights, learn from each other and delve into critical topics that are shaping the future of parliamentary practices across the Caribbean.

These include the integration of technology in parliament and developing a comprehensive code of conduct.

The conference ran from February 11 through 13.
