Four-Member Delegation Attend Regional Meeting of Education Ministers This Week
Montserrat’s Minister for Education is leading a 4-member delegation to St Kitts for three high level regional meetings of Ministers of Education, Human and Social Development this week.
Among the grouping for the September 10th to the 13th meeting, are Director of Education Dr Gregory Julius and Permanent Secretary of Camille Thomas-Gerald.
The first meeting - the 9th Meeting of the Council of Human and Social Development Ministers is scheduled for September 10th.
This meeting will be convened under the chairmanship of the Minister for Social Development and Gender Affairs, Isalean Philip and will see the Ministers for Human and Social Development attending from all English-speaking member states of the OECS.
Participants will aim to share ideas and accomplishments on social empowerment and also secure the support of the regional agencies towards improving social protection measures within the region.
The participants will also review the implementation of the Social Inclusion Protection (SISP) Strategic Action Plan which will runs from 2023-2030.
The topics of discussion during the Meeting will also include Social Protection Systems and Strategies, the OECS Regional Child Policy, and Investing in Shock-Responsive and Resilient Social Protection Systems in the Eastern Caribbean.
Next up, will be the Inaugural Joint Meeting of the Ministers of Health, Education, and Social Services, to be held on September 11th.
This joint meeting will be followed by the 9th Meeting of the Council of Education Ministers convened under Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Dr Geoffrey Hanley.
