Attorney General Explains Amendment to Penal Code
Attorney General Sheree Jemmotte-Rodney has been explaining the purpose for amending the age of criminal responsibility and to update the provisions of the penal code relating to offences of fraud and deception.
She was at the time addressing the Legislative Assembly ahead of the Penal Code Amendment Bill 2024 becoming law.
Mrs Jemmotte-Rodney explains that the Child Justice Bill 2024, a critical part of the amendment, establishes a judicial process for children accused of committing offences, underpinned by restorative justice approaches.
