Political Newcomer Calls For Constitutional Reform
A new politician and member of the National Progressive Movement (NPM), to contest the upcoming general election, is calling for constitutional reform to address anomalies in Montserrat’s electoral system.
In a statement aired on Radio Montserrat on Monday, Debra Lewis states that the Montserrat Constitution Order 2010, as it stands currently, makes provision for a minority government.
She states that the way the political system is set up, it already favours a minority cabinet solution.
