Applications Open to UK Overseas Territories for Darwin Plus Funding
Applications are now open to residents of the UK Overseas Territories for Darwin Plus funding.
Persons on Montserrat who have ideas for a project that helps deliver long-term strategic outcomes for the unique biodiversity, the natural environment and improving resilience to climate change are encouraged to apply for this UK government grants scheme.
There are four of Darwin Plus schemes.
Darwin Plus local - grants of up to £50,000 for organizations and up to £20,000 for individuals for small scale environmental projects that aim to improve outcomes for biodiversity, build capacity in-territory and contribute to local economies.
Darwin Plus Main - grants between £50,000 and £1 million for environmental projects lasting between 6 months and 3 years.
Darwin Plus People & Skills - up to £100,000 to spend across a max of 24 months. Funding is for UKOT nationals and/or long-term residents to build capacity through training, education, and professional development opportunities.
Darwin Plus Strategic – grants between £1 million and £3 million for projects that can demonstrate greater ambition lasting between 3 and 5 years.
