MARGUERITA BAY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT REFLECTS MCAP’S COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
The Movement for Change and Prosperity (MCAP) celebrates the successful completion of the Marguerita Bay Enhancement Project, showcasing its dedication to environmental conservation and community welfare. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Housing, Lands, and the Environment (MAHLE) the project encompassed two significant endeavours: excavation works to improve the access road and drainage system, followed by a collaborative beach cleanup effort led by Fayre Ryan.
The excavation works, conducted by the MAHLE, commenced on Friday, March 22nd, with the aim of enhancing accessibility and the waste management infrastructure in the Marguerita Bay area. The newly improved access road and drainage systems not only facilitate easier transportation for waste disposal, but also ensure the preservation of Montserrat's natural landscape.
"The excavation works at Marguerita Bay mark a pivotal moment in our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development and environmental stewardship," stated Hon. Crenston Buffonge, Minister of Agriculture. "By improving the access and waste management infrastructure, we are fostering a cleaner, more accessible Marguerita Bay for members of the community and visitors alike."
Following the successful completion of the excavation works, attention turned to the Marguerita Bay beach cleanup event, organised by Fayre Ryan in collaboration with Victory Services. Held on March 23rd, the cleanup initiative aimed to restore and maintain the pristine beauty of Marguerita Bay while raising awareness about environmental conservation.
"The beach cleanup event at Marguerita Bay exemplifies the power of community collaboration in preserving our natural environment," expressed Fayre Ryan, organiser of the cleanup effort. "Through initiatives like these, we can instil a sense of responsibility and pride in caring for our island's precious ecosystems."
Hon. Joseph E. Farrell, Premier of Montserrat, also attended the beach cleanup event, underscoring MCAP's commitment to fostering community engagement in environmental initiatives. "The Marguerita Bay Enhancement Project highlights the collective efforts of MCAP and our community members to create a sustainable and vibrant Montserrat," Premier Farrell remarked. "By working together, we can ensure that Montserrat remains a wonderful place to live in harmony with nature."
As part of MCAP's continued efforts to make Montserrat a thriving and sustainable community, the Marguerita Bay Enhancement Project exemplifies the party's dedication to environmental conservation and community welfare. Moving forward, MCAP remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting initiatives that safeguard Montserrat's natural beauty for generations to come.
