The Public Hearing on Access Continues

The public hearing on access to Montserrat by sea and air continued Tuesday at the Brades Arts and Education Centre.

One of the crucial aspects that took centre stage on day two of the inquiry was the approval process for airlines wishing to operate into and out of what has been termed “challenging airfields” such as the John A Osborne airport.

Justin Rothwell of Air Safety Support International (ASSI) was invited to share on this matter.

He was questioned about such an approval process which is directed through the airport manager, and the critical steps that are considered on safety grounds.
