FCDO Representative Defends Montserrat’s Port Project
A representative of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has defended Montserrat’s 90 million dollar port project.
Work has essentially started on the project that is expected to provide a safe habour and improve the efficiency, effectiveness and resilience of the island’s port facilities.
However, during Monday evening’s public meeting to provide an update on the project, concerns persisted on the design of the port and its ability to enhance Montserrat’s economic development.

In response to those concerns, civil engineer at the FCDO Dr. Harriette Stone says the new pier is a good solution for Montserrat, which will provide a platform for economic growth.
