Government Undertakes Energy Audit of Buildings
The Government of Montserrat is undertaking an energy audit of some of its buildings.
The audit is carried out by Wardell Armstrong LLP a multidisciplinary Environmental, Engineering, and Mining consultancy based in the United Kingdom.
Representatives of the company have been on the ground conducting the Energy Audits of 13 Government of Montserrat Buildings.
According to the Ministry of Communications Works Labour and Energy, these audits will help the Government of Montserrat identify and implement energy saving opportunities.
The work commenced on Tuesday this week at Government Head Quarters, where the team was reviewing the Customs and Immigration Building amongst others, as part of the Post-Covid Cost Reduction Through Energy Efficiency, which is supported by RESEMBID and funded by the European Union.
The Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories Resilience, Sustainable Energy and Marine Biodiversity Programme (RESEMBID) commenced operations in 2019.
The Programme supports the sustainable human development efforts of the 12 Caribbean OCTs, namely: Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos Islands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, and Saint Barthélemy.
