Government Makes Headway In Providing Housing Assistance
The government says it has made significant progress in the housing sector, despite funding constraints.
Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell says the government managed successfully to implement the Force 10 Houses Rehabilitation Project.
This was to strengthen the structural integrity and overall condition of homes for thirty-five 35 households.
Repairs and maintenance were also completed on the Lookout Warden Supported Units.
Premier Farrell says the government is committed to a policy of inclusion, and ensure that the vulnerable in the society have access to one of the basic human requirements, shelter.
He also announced that five Serviced Residential Lots have been allocated to qualified middle-income households.
This, he stated will go a long way in assisting them to secure mortgage finance for house construction.
Additionally, through the Housing Assistance Programme some thirty-five households were also provided with Home Improvement grants, creating better living conditions and stimulating the construction sector.
