Department of Labour Upgrades Skills in the Labour Market
The Department of Labour within the Ministry of Communications Works Labour and Energy continues to upgrade the skills of persons in the labour market.
It is currently hosting a Repairs and Maintenance Course in plumbing.
The three week course will see participant through practical demonstrations learning to repair various models of kitchen, lavatory and laundry faucets.
Participants will also trouble shoot and repair various models of shower and pressure reducing valves and learn how to determine the condition of plumbing fixtures among many others.
The Labour Department previously hosted a Basic Plumbing Course and an Advance Plumbing Course.
The latest course which is running from February 6th to 24rd, 2023 has at least three female participants, two of whom were in the two previous programs.
Four male students from the Montserrat Secondary School are attending the course for the first time.
As a result, the training was restructured for their accommodation.
The facilitator for all three courses has been Emile Duberry of Emerald Plumbing Hardware &Services of Davy Hill.
