Montserrat Rotary Club Plants Peace Poll At MontserratSecondary School
The Montserrat Rotary Club planted a peace poll at the Montserrat Secondary School (MSS) on Monday to promote peace around the world.
In the month of February, Rotarians around the world observe, ‘Peace and Conflict Resolution’ month.
The brief ceremony, which was attended by Principal Pastor Tony Allen, staff and students also marked 118 years of the Rotary International movement which is observed on February 23, 2023 worldwide.
District Governor for District 7030 Leslie Ramdhanny, from Grenada and Assistant Governor Evangeline Allen, who is responsible for the Rotary Club of Antigua and the Montserrat Rotary Club were on island for the event.
Ramdhanny explained the significance of the peace poll to the students at the school and the island in general.
Rotary International is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations,and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
In more than 170 countries worldwide, approximately 1.4 million Rotarians belong to more than 34,000 Rotary clubs.
