Eastern Caribbean Central Bank To Introduce $2.00 Notes

As of December 06, 2023, EC$2.00 notes will be available at commercial banks across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU), including Montserrat.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) made the disclosure on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, over four years since the launch of the EC polymer banknotes.

According to ECCB, the $2.00 note features a regional icon and also the latest in currency security and innovation.

At the 105th Meeting of the ECCU Monetary Council on Friday, July 21, 2023, the ECCB approved the replacement of the late Queen Elizabeth II on the EC Currency.

The Monetary Council is a few months away from finalizing the new look for the EC Polymer notes.
