Documentary by Montserratian Filmmaker to be featured at UK National "Being Human" Festival
A documentary by Montserratian filmmaker, Jerely Browne, will be featured as a part of the UK National “Being Human” Festival.
The annual festival aims to highlight the humanities through public engagement across the United Kingdom. This year, an evening of short films is planned which will showcase stories from Montserrat and St. Vincent.
The documentary by Jerely Browne follows the artistic journey of the 'Montserrat Murals,' created by students of the Montserrat Secondary School (MSS) and the Montserrat community. The murals, which were created through the Curating Crises Project via the MVO, re-imagine the island's modern history amid its volcanic history.
The event will take place on November 15, 6:30 PM at the Hackney Picturehouse Cinema, 270 Mare Street, London, E8 1HE. The event is free, but spots must be booked in advance.
The “Being Human” Festival 2023 will run from November 9th to the 18th and take place in 52 locations across the UK.
