MUL Updates Residents on Causes for Incessant Power Outages on Island

The island’s lone electricity provider has given an explanation for last weekend’s incessant power outages.

In an update to customers, the Montserrat Utilities Limited (MUL) pointed out that there was a damaged pole in the Salem area and broken insulators in Davy Hill and Barzey’s which were responsible for the outages.

The power company stated that teams worked until the wee hours of the morning (please state date here) to fix the issues, which took longer than expected due to heavy wind and rain.

Thus the lengthy periods of electricity outage.

MUL says it’s technical team has been working feverishly to stabilize the power and will continue to do all within its remit to maintain a steady supply of power to the residents of Montserrat.

Persons are reminded to call 492-5249 to report any faults to their service.

Meantime, Montserrat Utilities Limited (MUL) is expected to make a presentation to Cabinet by September 2022.
